*~*My Winnings*~*

I won fairy earrings and stickers for this poem I wrote (I came joint first place with Ananya):

As the sun sets over the twilight sky,
A little fae goes flying by.
Dressed in cobwebs and purple silk,
Clad in petals the colour of milk.

Glitter and starlight cover the skies,
Into the forest our fairy flies.
Through the trees and over the pond,
In her hands she clutches a wand.

Wings that flutter and glitter with dew,
Only seen by a very few.
Twinkling eyes that sparkle with light,
She sings a song with all her might.

Singing a song of dragons and flowers.
The magic of the earth and all its powers.
The fairy folk and all their kin.
And how they like to bless and sing.

Whispers flow throughout the air,
About the lives of the creatures fair,
That live in wood and by sandy beach,
In icy caves and out of reach.

Tales of magic that have never been told,
Myths and legends from the times of old,
The owls hoot and the story ends,
But will be told again to all fairy friends.

The cool breeze of the forest blows,
And we see the silver tips of her toes.
Up she soars, in the cold winter night.
Filling the stars with a wishing light.
